Let's start with the basics!

Hi, I'm Brooke! I was born and raised in San Diego, CA, and moved to the Bay Area to build my career. I'm a mom to two kids and a cat, and my days run on their schedule — drop-offs, dinners, and the small routines that hold a week together. The rest of my time goes to software engineering, and the two fit around each other. When I'm not juggling work and family life, you'll find me on the ice — I've been a competitive figure skater most of my life, and it taught me to keep showing up and trying the hard thing again.

What I do

By day I'm a Software Engineer at Apple, where I work on the CoreOS team supporting Software Update and Mobile Asset. I've been building software at Apple since 2013 — first on the server side of iCloud's asset routing infrastructure, then as an individual contributor on the client side, and for a few years as an Engineering Manager leading a small team. What keeps me in it is building things that work reliably at scale.

Beyond work and ice time

I hold a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). I enjoy the outdoors and staying connected with my community. One of our favorite ways to spend a day off as a family is exploring the Bay Area together — tracking down trains, parks, libraries, and other adventures.
